Fourth of July & Other Festivities

Thursday was the Fourth of July, and we didn't do a lot of celebrating.  It was hot.  We stayed home.  Lame. However, I made sure they were dressed appropriately for the occasion.  Love them in the red, white, and blue. ;)

When Mills gets tired of holding Syd, things get a little hairy...she just lets go and then starts pushing her off of herself.  We have to be ready to jump in pretty quickly. ;)
JKK took Mills to buy a few kid-friendly fireworks; mostly chickens and tanks.  She was excited...until they made loud noise.  Then she hid in the garage.
action shot!
Syd slept through all of the action, of course...
Later that night, JKK & I sat outside to watch the local firework shows from our back patio.  We get to catch some pretty great shows and don't even have to leave the house!

Friday, we had some very special company...Brandon, Leann, Ethyn, and Kendyl came to visit!  Since they live in the Denver area and we have small children, we rarely get to see them.  We've learned it's all about quality not quantity. :)  Thankful for the time we do get with them.

First time for them to meet sweet Sydney

my big brother <3

Millie adores getting to hang around a big kid that pays attention to her, and Kendyl is super great with kids.  I wish they lived closer for Kendyl to babysit!
Millie was giggling the entire time

It was so hot, we had to strip Syddles down...which is saying a lot because she is pretty cold-natured

Saturday was Millie's 2nd Birthday!!  Since we already had her party the week before, we didn't have much planned.  However, JKK went for celebratory birthday donuts, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
She also really enjoyed the new awesome swing/slide set that Uncle B and Aunt Leann brought to her!
Saturday evening we drove to Mannford to celebrate Leann's graduation from college.  Wheeeeee, congrats Leann!!  Super proud of her!
Mimi and Pa were there!  Miss them so much.
Look what Mimi made for Syddles!  Beautiful, as usual...
Papa and Grandma Tricia were there too!
Millie spent a lot of time on the slide.  Love the back of her little dress.
taller than his momma :)
birthday girl was worn out from the long drive and wayyyyy too much sugar
Kendyl and Papa
bye bye Uncle B :(
It has been a packed few days, but we had so much fun seeing everyone!  This week we are looking forward to a visit from Aunt Coco and the boys, swim lesson, a visit from Nana, and then Rachel's shower!!
