Syd only rides one thing: the pink plasma car. It's hers. Everyone knows it's hers. If anyone else rides it, this happens:
Millie has finally moved on from scribbling. This is our family portrait (including Nana).
We went to Farmland Adventures in early October for a birthday party, and oh man, do we love that place. It was a gorgeous Saturday and the wildflowers were spectacular.
Sweet Beckham (forefront) turned 2!
Hay Bale tower! The girls squeezed into their festive pumpkin shirts from last year.
JKK was at an OSU football game, so I had the girls all by myself. FINALLY, that doesn't feel like such a big deal. I'm now 90% sure I can keep sight of both of them when I'm on my own. ;)
Such a fun crew: Millie, Elle, Hadley, Anniston, and Syd (missing baby brothers Beckham and Lachlan)
Syd's first pony ride!Feeding the goats was a highlight
We got our pics back from Amber Lanning and this is my favorite. <3 These two have the sweetest bond. Gives me goosebumps.
We did make it to the Tulsa Zoo at least once this fall!
Aaaaaand, we finally got to meet Mr. Cheston (Zak and Whitney's baby boy)!
Syd preferred the kittens
I prefer this sweet nugget. Isn't he handsome?! Grandma Tricia's pretty over the moon about him.
Love this pic of dad...in his happy place
Before school pics have gotten interesting
At least we got in a little hiking...
...and marshmallows!
Daddy (JKK) has a lot of cars. It's his thing. The girls think it is the coolest to ride in them. They especially love the VW minibus. We don't take it far, since there are no car seats. Usually just to the chips place (Chuy's).
We spent a couple of perfect evenings on the patio at the chips place last month. We've had some fantastic fall weather and we've enjoyed every second. Plus, I love that it's really no longer painful to take the girls out to eat. We still don't linger, but at least we all enjoy ourselves (and chips).
Millie is exhausted 95% of the time. Why won't she nap anymore?! School wears her out and by 4pm, she's turned into a bear.
I took Mills to a bday party by herself. She felt pretty special...and I guess also sort of pretty?? She picked out a new necklace and then struck a fierce pose by the fountain.
The posing continued...she cracks me up.Abs of Steel
I love crafting, especially with my momma. Wine and crafts and gossip = I'm officially a middle-aged cliche!
sister love, at its finest
For my bday, JKK bought me Alt-J concert tickets in Portland OR so that I could go with Christie! He is the best gift giver ever. I still adore going to concerts. This whole weekend with Christie made me so happy...the hiking, the cocktails, the reading of an actual book.
While I was gone, the girls decorated pumpkins. They sent me this pic and I looked at it 20 times while I was there. They are the cutest.
The. Cutest.More fall fun = painting pumpkins with the neighbors. We love them.
Millie's class party had costume restrictions: the kids could only dress up as a handful of things, and a cheerleader was one of them. I let Syd dress up too that day because why not?!
Millie's picture day outfit was pretty cute, no? I was trying to get a pic of her, and then Bayleigh (her class bestie) stepped up and said "take a picture of us because we're best friends!". Another little girl from their class hopped in at the last second. Such a sweet age. Kids these days sure know what a camera is....ha!
Oh Syddy. She's in love with my old Raggedy Ann Doll. She takes it everywhere, even to school. Her teacher said she won't take a nap sometimes because she's too busy playing with her dolly.
skeleton jammies...just missing Cayden and Beck!
It was raining and she wanted me to pick her up. Look at that face.
Trunk-or-treat at the girls school!
Annual Halloween cookies = the beginning of the holiday weight gain. So worth it.
Taking dolly to school.
Mills makes this lopsided face for almost every pic these days. Maybe she's a pirate?
Paw Patrol came to NWA!! So cool.
Oh, Marshall. Syd loves you, Marshall. She was starstruck.
Kendyl looking pretty adorable on Halloween! Sad that the nieces and nephews are all almost too old to dress up anymore. :(
Syd painted this pumpkin at school and was very proud of it.
Trick-or-treating at daddy's work! Millie started saying months ago that she wanted to be a witch for Halloween. I got really excited! Nobody is a witch anymore! Then, of course, as it got closer she switched to Princess Aurora. Perfectly understandable, she's four...and she did love it so much. Syd was supposed to be Cinderella but her costume was too big, so we made a last minute switch to Sofia the first. This really confused her. She kept asking where Cinderella was. ;)
Halloween night, all bundled up and ready to head out!
We went door-to-door with Elle and Beckham, but we snapped a quick group shot with Asher and Esme also. I love our neighborhood!
The girls love handing out candy. It drives the big kids mad because they're so slow at it, which I secretly love. See Millie's one-eyed Willie face?
This is such a silly age. Syd thought it was so funny to hold her arms and go down the slide perfectly still. Her hair is getting so long.
Millie was tired and grumpy because she fell asleep in the car. Poor Mills. I feel sorry for her. It also drives me crazy. Just take a nap! I wish I could...
Syd's teacher sent this little gem. She's so funny. Both Ms. Amanda and the caregivers at my exercise studio both say that Syd doesn't like for other kids to get close to her. At the exercise studio, she's gone as far as lining up chairs as a barrier. I don't know what to think of that. She is going to be trouble. She does all of the things Millie never did. She jumps on the bed, colors on the walls, hits other kids (she even bit Millie once), and marks all over her body with markers. Look at how proud she was when I took her picture. If you tell her not to do something, she says "okay" in the sweetest voice. Then she goes and does it again.
More Millie art...a super awesome butterfly!
our family getting attacked by snakes??
This morning was "Donuts with Mom" morning at school. It's only for the preschool kids, but I had to bring Syd, of course. Look at her go to town...
My big girl. Love her so.
Earlier this year, I found some old pics at Mimi's of Brandon and I in Halloween costumes long ago...thought the girls would appreciate this some day.
look at my raggedy ann doll!
