First of June Update

June is here and school is winding down for Millie!  Only 8 more days...
Meanwhile, Syd is bored without Millie and focusing her energy on the cats.

Millie has refused to wear dresses for months, but finally she found one she approves of!  Lookin' sassy, Mills!
Date night at the amp to see Dave Matthews! Eat, drink, and be merry is kind of our motto.
Syd went with me to the eye doctor and begged for some pink glasses of her own
Last day of gymnastics together :(
Afterwards, I took the girls to pick some strawberries!  Oh my goodness, it was hot, but we still had fun!
My errand buddy: "Mom take a picture of me!"

Dance recital ready!

She was a bit nervous, but she was very brave.  I always feel so nervous for her.
And then she killed it up there ;)  I love watching her perform.  She's so confident and she's got some dance skills!  She LOVED the hip hop style, so she'll be re-enrolling in the fall.
We were proud of our girl!

Daddy took Syd on a bike date!  He said she pedaled hard and talked the whole time.  I smile so big seeing this picture because of her joy.
Back to the rink...gotta practice before Mills party! And look at Millie go!
Millie won the kids red light/green light game!!
I love that our little friends meet us there - unfortunately, the six kids got a lesson on life this time.  An older woman was skating and fell.  The floor was cleared, the ambulance came, there were horrible screams - I think she broke her hip.  The kids were talking about the incident a lot and had some questions.  It was sad - that poor old woman was in such pain.  A good reminder not to get too silly or adventurous out there on the rink.
Art show at Millie's school - her dog is the black and brown one!
Mommy and Syd date: she chose Chick-fil-a and blueberry picking!
relaxed
Millie's school sang the National Anthem at The Naturals game during the last week of school.  I like this pic: Millie's biggest fan is front and center!
whoops - we need to teach her where her heart is ;)
besties
surprise!
read in day - Millie's class was allowed to bring blankets and pillows and books to lounge and read all day at school!  She loved it.
game day: bring board games from home to play in class
Finally!  Syd starts swim lessons, and she was a good sport about it!
But it was kind of exhausting and she was prone to meltdowns during the two weeks of swim lessons
The day Millie looks forward to all year long: Field Day!!  Another mom was there and sent me pics.  I love seeing Mills with her posse (Sofia, Dylan, Sage, Kiley, and India).
This year there was a huge waterslide!

peace out 1st grade
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!

Syd has made good progress her first week of lessons and is gaining confidence!

geronimo!
Millie and Sage: officially on summer break!
Look who's in the same gymnastics class?!  Dylan!
Gymnastics is right by Nana's, so we started coming over for dinner every week afterwards!
During the second week of swim lessons, Syd got very sick with strep throat and croup.  Poor girl was sick for about 5 days.  Thankfully the swim coach allowed us to come back for make-ups and finish the lessons.  Rockin' that new suit, Syd!
I love this little face.  By the end of swim lessons, Syd could swim the length of the pool.  She was also jumping off the diving board and swimming to the side.  Success!
Syd is always rolling around on the floor with Lily.  This patient, tolerant cat was made for her!
sweet babies from long ago...
