Millie turns SEVEN!

Last night as a six year old - working on wiggling those top teeth that aren't really loose at all ;)
Lucky number seven!  She is one cool (roller-blading) cat.
For her bday, she asked for two things: 1) roller blades, 2) high heels from Justice (a girls clothing store).
The knee-high socks were my own touch. ;)  We were out bright and early to try them out!  They are actually super cool and the wheels light up, which is good for the dark roller skating rink.
ICE CREAM CAKE FOR BREAKFAST!!
How perfect that I found some roller skating themed candies to decorate it with...although the girls were a bit confused on what a cassette tape actually is.

A few things about our girl at this age: first of all, this is a really sweet age.  She rarely gets in trouble, unless it's for not picking up after herself.  Or sometimes she sneaks candy and hides the wrappers in her room.  She's usually very nice to her sister and friends.  She loves to snuggle, and she's a master at getting cozy.  She LOVES cozy clothes and lounging around in a pile of blankets watching her iPad.  She takes awhile to wake up and doesn't like eating breakfast right away (total opposite of Syd).  She is still the best vegetable eater I know!  She is observant and cautious...certainly not a thrill seeker at this point in her life.  She doesn't like schoolwork and hasn't really shown a love for reading yet.  She does LOVE playing with her friends more than anything right now, so she's always asking me if she can go knock on doors or set up playdates.  She sticks up for her friends and doesn't have a mean bone in her body.  She's definitely a lover, not a fighter.  We are so proud of her and love her so.  Sooooo glad she's ours!

eyeing the cake from the landing

It was delicious; we all agreed.  Dairy Queen knows how to do it!
This picture right here is Millie in a nutshell at seven years old: getting cozy on her bed, watching silly YouTube videos on her iPad, with blankie close by.  Look at that gorgeous smile...
She's grown 2 inches in a year!

These are the famous Justice high heels that she asked about for 45 days straight.  She isn't allowed to wear them anywhere besides around our house, but she's okay with it.  So sassy!
love this sweet face
And now it's time to PARTY!  Of course she wanted to have her party at the roller skating rink.  Of course we needed glow sticks for everyone.  It turned out to be a pretty rad party!
So many friends came!  Dylan, Anniston, Hadley, Kaedyn (hidden behind Hadley), Elle, Finley, Beckham, Cayden, and Mills.  And Ms. Amanda in the background being awesome.

AAA friends!
LIMBO!  This is Mills killing it, but Hadley actually won, like she always does!  So flexible, that one.
getting low, Beck!
I know this pic is tiny, but I love it.  Millie has picked some very sweet little friends.  I love this age, still so innocent and uninhibited.

Super cool roller couple - heath did take a bit of a spill.  It hurts way more as an adult.
Joel.  Sweet Joel.  Poor guy couldn't stand up on his skates.

Our neighbor and girl scout friend, Sydney!
besties for the restie - we actually found them sitting alone a few times, just talking to each other
happy SEVENTH bday sweet girl!

james!  we love james.
The cookie cake was gorgeous!
And so were the delicious rainbow cookies our neighbor made for us.  It was a great party!!  We told Millie this is her last big party, so we made it a good one.  From now on, she can pick a few friends to do something fun, but no more big parties.  I think she's outgrowing those anyway.  She seems so grown up these days!
