Summer Break, part II

Nana kept the girls one night so we could attend a concert.  Millie loves getting dressed up and having Nana perform a fashion photo shoot in her back yard.

We were cracking up at this one with Syd's photobomb ;)
Then we cracked up even more when Syd found a nighttime diaper and insisted on wearing it.  Her pose and her face really get me in this picture.  So sassy!
Young the Giant night with Whitney and Corey!  We are so lucky to have the Amp so close!
Sawyer came over for a play date!  This was big news in Syd's world!  Syd helped her ride the hoverboard.
Tiny Millie - so messy!
Tiny Syd - so blonde!
Well, we've resorted to borrowing Charlie for walks since we don't have a dog of our own.  Syd is the best little dog walker!
Checking sno-cones off our summer bucket list!
During the month of July, one of our babysitters (Victoria) was back in town for a summer class.  So you better believe we've been using her for date nights!  We LOVE riding bikes on date nights.  Check out this new mural in downtown Rogers - she's super cool with Mona Lisa in her glasses!
You guys, I could not have been more proud: the girls said they set up a book club for their barbies!
Millie put on some makeup and I almost cried - she looks so grown up and beautiful!  Blue eyeshadow and all...
Checking more stuff off the summer bucket list: Rogers Aquatic Park with our friends!
This is what Beck does when I ask to take his pic
Big milestones here: Syd jumped off the huge diving board and got really comfortable at it.  It's kind of scary because the pool is so deep.
And Millie conquered her fear of the big slide!
Coco and Uncle Tony came for a Saturday afternoon visit and it was glorious!

We hung out at Black Apple Crossing brewery for the afternoon and the girls are so good at playing on their own.  Especially if a stage is involved.

Taking the barbies outdoors
Finally, we got to celebrate this guy - Cayden is 8!  And these two could not be more silly together...
When Millie takes over the camera
Fab Four: still pretty fab!  I don't know what we would do without these people in our lives.
Ohhhhh snap!  Starbucks just released a new tie-dye frappacino and Millie is in love!
Syd's turn for a playdate at Sawyer's house, and her mom sent me this pic.  That's a real dog.  Hahaha!
Hair chalk looks wicked cool on grumpypants.  She still gets so tired when we have a lot of activities.  I try to make sure they get some rest time during the day, but Syd needs more sleep than the rest of us. ;)
Big girl bikes
This week was super challenging.  The girls both had morning camps with different drop off and pickup times.  It was bananas, but I love getting to be the mom to ferry everyone around.  Sage and Dylan's parents work, so I try to help out when I can...especially if it means they get to hang out with my kiddos more.  Love these girls so much.
Dylan and Millie enjoying sushi at City Pump - the chopsticks are still kinda hard ;)
Ohhh ya know...acting like teenagers at the pool, dancing to the music and doing all the cool pool tricks
My BFF

We love summer!
Millie picked out this outfit for her bday date with Nana.  <3
It's so special that my mom takes them out individually to celebrate their birthdays.  They love it!
Nana took her shopping and she picked out these fancy shoes, some fake nails, and a huge bucket of slime.  Typical Millie.
Practicing crossing our eyes ;)
Joywave concert with friends!  Have I mentioned how much we love summer??
I got to make a quick weekend trip to Knoxville TN to hang out with my college girlfriends, and it was pretty awesome!
We hiked a little in the Great Smoky Mountains...so cool!  I love being outside in nature.  Makes me so happy!
While I was away, I got to FaceTime with my people and cats.
the cats loved it
JKK gets dad of the year award for keeping them super busy while I was gone.  They had sno-cones, went to the aquatic park, jumped at Defy trampoline place, and even attended a neighbors get-together with slip-n-slides!
These cats get a lot of love and pettings
OMG, Syd gets to move up to the next level in gymnastics.  Holla!  She's been working hard on perfecting her cartwheel and it shows!  Proud of her!  And she's proud of herself!
Barbie fever for all of us
In an act of obscene generosity, Carol sent the girls some vintage 90s barbies from her own personal collection...still in the boxes!  These have made my childhood dreams come true.  I never was lucky enough to get a holiday barbie!  They are so over-the-top 90s, I love it all!  The girls have adored playing with them.  So sweet of Carol to part with these and many other items not pictured.  Millie and Syd are very lucky girls!

Lake Atalanta on a cool summer morning...nothing better
Syd said this rock looks like a bird.  I see it!
Going to miss these gals when they go back to school next week :(
Sawyer hosted a Christmas in July party this year that blew Syd's mind.  Holiday decor, personalized Elf Squad shirts, chocolate fountains, a reindeer cake, christmas music, Elf on the TV...it was all so magical.  One of the girls actually said "I'm just so happy!".  Christmas time just really does make everything better.
Introducing the 2019 Elf Squad

While Syd was at the Christmas party, I took Millie shopping.  She used some of her birthday money to buy this fantastic camo jumpsuit that she's been eyeing in the Justice catalog.  What a babe!  She also bought some cool color-changing mood earrings.
sunroom sleepovers continue
it's so hot, the barbies need pool time too
I took the girls to see the musical Annie one Sunday afternoon.  Our neighbor Addi was playing the part of Pepper, so the girls thought that was super cool!  Inevitably there are slow parts, so we did eat a lot of snacks. ;)
