October 2022

Happy Halloween Month!  Syd has chosen her costume, and it's a good one!  She has a goose sticker on her water bottle (see next pic) holding a knife in its mouth and the phrase "peace was never an option" underneath.  I think she loves it because one of her fave pastimes is chasing seagulls with plastic cutlery on beach vacations.  Anyhoo, a goose costume was too hard to find, but we did land on this giant blow up chicken.  She added a bloody knife and voila, halloween magic!

Ticket to Ride...outside!
Concert night with Emily to see The Dixie Chicks!!
Baby girl's favorite spot
This was a fun day: we rode our bikes to the community center.  It's a pretty good ride!  We had lunch at the playground and then let the kids swim for a bit at the indoor pool.

Hard to see, but I get such a giggle when Baggy chooses dad's lap while watching TV.
Nails on the fingys...
...Nails on tha toes
Scotty is missing!

Ah fourth grade Kristin.  This hair was really important.  You had to hold it out in this wing style with a brush and spray it with hairspray, then use the blow dryer on it.  The bangs are artwork too.
Fourth grade Syd = much better!  Look at the beautiful fresh bebe.
Okay, sixth grade Kristin's hair has calmed down, but maybe the clothing is TOO buttoned up?
Sixth grade Millie is an easy, breezy beauty.  So far, neither needs glasses, which is pretty exciting!
It's sweater season, and little buddy hates it.
Mills has such a great serve!  Super consistent and really graceful.
She really loves her team this year.

Down and ready
Syd hasn't had the best introductory year to volleyball.  Unfortunately her coach travels a lot for work, so she doesn't come to many practices or games.  It's a volunteer position, so I guess it's luck of the draw.  Hopefully she will want to try again next year and we will get a more stable coach.

Nana loves to come cheer them on!  Thankful for her constant presence.
On our way back down to Devil's Den!
They love hammocks
Nana tent camping with us!

The girls should probably rough it in a tent a few times to appreciate this

Nana took woofie back home with her...we are staying a few more days because it's fall break.  Mom gets in a solo hike!  Heaven.
Oh hey Harper!  Millie's friend is staying a couple of nights in the Den with us.
It got a bit chilly the last day, so we moved inside for games and movies.

This pic is so millie.
Baby sister mad she can't go outside on the patio.
Big Boy continuing to make small dog friends at daycare.  They said he won't play with any of the big dogs.
Baggy loves Millie so much.
I jussa babeee
Moms in Nashville!  Finally taking Ms. Amanda's belated bday trip.
Dolly Parton's White Limozeen restaurant didn't disappoint.
The holy grail: Parnassus bookstore.  We've wanted to visit this specific bookstore for years.  It's ran by one of our favorite author's, Ann Patchett, and it's practically perfect in every way.  We loved it!
They have shop dogs!  Perfection.
October is when the tiredness hits.  The adrenaline has worn off the school year and everyone is properly worn out.
This girl is enjoying dance!  She practices a few nights a week during the fall semester, and then competitions start in January!
Rain rain go away...

I'm not a huge fan of scooping out pumpkin guts, so Syd allows the other form of pumpkin decorating.  Thank goodness!  Meow.
Syd drew this snoopy picture, which I obviously love.  It's the writing below that makes me laugh.  "Snoopy is in a bucket of lefs." Lefs = leaves

We are gonna have a killer view from our third floor sunroom!
Another day, another pumpkin.  She painted this one and turned it into a crow.  Very creative!
After school halloween cupcakes.  I'm such an awesome mom.  ;)

Millie has picked Winifred from Hocus Pocus as her costume!
So good!  She's headed to a dance halloween event.
Syd did her bike club with Buddy Pegs again this fall.  She gets a little grumpy about it, but we gotta move our bodies.  It's such a fun way to move, what's to be grumpy about?!  Kids.  Blerg.
The bobcat is back!

Oh good, our neighbors finally put that bathtub sitting in their lawn to good use.
Go #8!
The serving has been tough for her this season, but I think it's starting to click!
Go #19!  This team is doing really well.
The girls decided to take Norah and Harper with us to the Exeter Corn Maze this year.
It's rainy and cold, but the kids don't care.

I care though.  Sadly, they shut it down pretty quickly and we received some credit to come back in the future.  Off to find another activity....
Bowling is always a good idea.

For Syd's school party, she decided to skip the chicken and go with Luna Lovegoode from Harry Potter movies.  Precious.

Baggy keeps knocking puzzle pieces off and Woofie keeps eating them.  Mom is upset.
Surprising Syd at school today with this shark costume.  Momma Shark, doo doo...
She thinks I'm silly.

Vampire Charlotte!
Miss Phelan, Norah, and Mollie all looking very dark and witchy!
Lucky Dad got to go to Erbie out near the Buffalo River for a weekend with Matthew and Chris.
He loves to be held.
Dancer!
The Fab Four.  This is our last Halloween together since they are moving to Seattle next Summer.  It's hard not to think of everything in "lasts", but we are thankful we've had them for so long!  We knew Heath would eventually have to move for his job.  Boo.  Beckham, of course, has chosen a sport: this year it's a football player!   Cayden also went with the blow up option.
The blow up chicken was slow...it's hard to walk in and it's hard to see.
Although Millie looks wicked cool, she complained about the wig a lot.
You know what's comfy?  This shark costume.  Next year no blow ups or wigs for the kids!

candy swap meet
Hehe George
Added some Halloween decor to our house this year!
Oh, and we can't forget Woof's daycare pics!  They had a costume day and snapped some funny ones.
Lil Chucky!
The mellow group continues to be...mellow.
