Millie likes:
- playing chase - this is probably her number one favorite thing, and she prefers that it is her being chased. She doesn't really enjoy being the chaser.
- singing - oh my goodness, she sings all the time: twinkle twinkle, itsy bitsy spider, baby beluga, this little light of mine, the wheels on the bus, the ABCs, ring around the rosie
- playing outside - playground time, especially the swings; riding in or pulling the wagon; riding the tricycle; taking walks in the stroller; chase with Beansie in the backyard; sprinkler or any sort of water play in the warmer months.
- jumping off of stuff...like the couch or fireplace or stairs
- playdates with her friends, especially Cayden :)
- loving on Syd, holding her hand and pinching her cheeks...and also, checking her for boogers and toe jam.
- coloring, painting, and stickers
- playing music on the CD player (really just ejecting the CD and putting it back in a lot)
- getting water from the water cooler in a big girl cup (then inevitably spilling most of it)
- favorite toys: baby dolls & stroller, kitchen set & play food/dishes, cozy coupe car, puzzles
- favorite books: 10 Trick-or-Treaters, Goodnight Goon, Splendid Spotted Snake, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Love You Forever, Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother Too?, 5 Little Ducks Went Swimming One Day, Panda Bear Panda Bear What Do You See?
- favorite TV shows: Maurice Sendak's Little Bear, Curious George, Winnie the Pooh Movie, Monsters, Inc. movie
- favorite snacks/foods: yogurt raisins, goldfish crackers, trail mix, juice boxes, veggie chips, chocolate covered sunflower seeds, cucumber, cheese sticks, grapes
- having her hair washed or fixed
- sitting in timeout
- diaper changes (working on potty training...we plan to tackle that over Christmas break!)
- picking up her toys
- having her picture taken (see below her fake pose face)
- someone trying to help her ride the tricycle is definite cause for meltdown
- pretty much just being told what to do and being made to do it
Millie says:
- We're in trouble. She's started cussing. I'm sure no one is surprised, but ever since it has started, we've been on lockdown with our mouths. Yet, she still continues to shout out damnit and even a few GDs here and there. We've been ignoring it, but it hasn't gone away. Yeesh, I hope she isn't kicked out of Mother's Day Out for her sailor mouth.
- She's started calling JKK "Johnny". "Johnny, where are you?". "Johnny, over here". It's sort of unsettling. I've started correcting her to make her say daddy.
- After her Little Bear TV show goes off in the morning, she shouts out "time to watch the news!".
- She now tells us what to do..."you go in there", "mommy, don't sing", "daddy don't talk to mommy".
- Fruit loops are pronounced "boot lips"
- Her negotiation skills need work. She will so sweetly ask for "one chip, can I have one chip mommy?"...and if she sees us hesitate and feels like we are going to turn her down, she quickly cuts us off with a higher offer "two chips, two more chips". It's hilarious and we usually give in.
- Recently at the chick-fil-a playground, she told another kid to be quiet because "shhhh, Syd's sleeping".
- Heard fairly often when Syd is eating: "Syd, eat tha boobie!"
- Last week, Sawyer ran off in the MDO parking lot. Millie scolded him by saying "Sawyer! No sir!". I'm pretty sure she's going to be bossy.
- Every time we ride in the car, she's sure to point out any bulldozers, tractors, or school buses that can be seen. She gets so excited when she spots one.
- Millie makes little lists of her routine. For example, if we ask her what she wants to do today....she'll reply something along the lines of "go park, eat lunch, take nap, wake up, stretch, watch bear, drink milk, go park..."
- A few weeks ago, we went to Grey's birthday party and afterwards we ran through the car wash. Now when she sees that car wash, she says "car wash, bubbles, scary, {car wash sounds}, {hand washing action}, it's okay, it's okay, daddy's here, happy birthday grey!".
She is still the silliest, quirkiest, happiest little kid. We must be doing something right. :)
Haha!! What a character! And I am dying over her cussing-- can't imagine that coming out of such a sweet lil thing
