Millie Marie turned FIVE years old on July 6th!! Bananas. How time flies...here's proof in her 5th birthday montage video and here's her {always insightful} 5th birthday interview video
Some of my favorite answers:
Favorite animal: lions (have never heard this one before)
Favorite book: Pete the cat
Favorite thing to do with mommy: hugs
Favorite thing to do with daddy: play fight
Favorite thing to do with Syd: kiss & hug...play barbies
Favorite places to go: chips place, Chuck E Cheese
What will you be when you grow up: candy server. This cracks me up every time (she's been saying it for awhile). She wants to own her own candy store, pretty much become Willy Wonka!
She's a girly tomboy, if there is such a thing. She wanted a two-piece swimsuit, yet she spends most of her time doing cannonballs (although, I guess she DOES love handstands in the pool too). She loves riding bikes in her princess gowns. She walks around the house in heels and jewelry playing pretend, but when it's time to actually go somewhere, she could care less what she's wearing as long as it's comfortable. She wants nothing to do with pants or jeans that snap and zip - elastic only, please! I guess I would call her style: casual comfortable chic. ;) She wants her ears pierced, but she's afraid to get a "shot" in her ear. She won't be the one making a sacrifice for fashion.
She's been sitting down and looking through books a lot on her own; I think she's ready to read! She's excited, yet nervous, to start kindergarten in August. She's independent, observant, cautious until she's checked things out thoroughly. She's sensitive and snuggly. A great eater, lover of treats, and great at bossing Syd around and playing pretend with her. She loves playing with babies. She's a bit sassy, but I would say she's a good girl and won't be the ring leader when it comes to treating others badly. Athletic and fun to watch dominate bikes, gymnastics, swimming, and other physical feats. Giggly and silly and can play with others well. Talks wayyy too much about poop and toots and butts (I thought that was a boy thing??). She can't stand to be hot (she gets all panicky, like me)!FIVE = one whole hand!
Other than birthday cake, her favorite foods are: baked beans, chips place (Chuy's), chicken noodle soup, vegetables (green beans, broccoli, romaine lettuce, sugar snap peas, carrots, cucumbers), pickles and pickled okra, pink pancakes, mac-n-cheese, gum, any/all treats.
Still growing! Doctor appt not until August, but she's around 46 inches tall and 49 pounds.
Continuing the cake for breakfast tradition is so fun! We had to wake her up on her birthday - I love her sleepy eyes and bedhead. She was soooo excited! She looks so old to me in these pics <3
We ALL love the cake for breakfast tradition ;) When I asked Syd what we should get Millie for her bday, Syd instantly replied "a kangaroo". Millie looked upset and said she didn't want a kangaroo. Fine by me.
Also waiting for her after breakfast was her new bike! It's bigger and heavier, but it looks super cool. She's so proud of it! And we're SO proud of her. Five years old. Our big girl. Our sensitive one. We're sooooo glad she's ours! Happy birthday, sweet girl!
