Millie usually comes out of gymnastics covered in chalk...she thinks it's funny. ;)
iPad rest time
3 years ago: back in the RV-ing days...I miss those trips to Devils Den!
Sometimes in August, recess can be a bit much...so we stop for snocones on the way home!
Nana's birthday: we spent the evening at Crystal Bridges seeing the new exhibit
this one made us giggle - girl power!
Syd was very impressed with this giant "crystal"
The next day, mom and I went to Tulsa for a baby shower and some family time! (Tammy, Cathy, KK, Cindy, Mimi, and Nana)
Afterwards, we went to visit Papa for a bit! Sadly, he doesn't remember much these days. It's been hard to watch the decline, but he's always happy to see us.
Found this old picture in his room <3
While I was in Tulsa, JKK took the girls out to play in the nature state!
He went with the Hegi's, and George kept up!
tuckered out - the most dangerous game is saying you'll lay down for just a minute when the girls are going to bed ;)
The girls finally received their summer clay camp goods! Syd's chameleon is pretty cool
Millie's chameleon is painted beautifully in rainbow pattern - I love it! And she is also showing her sting ray.
Ahhhh nana's house...where kids can be kids. They never play baby dolls at home.
One steamy weekend in august, our neighbors set up a water slide and hosted a BBQ!
The kids had a blast cruising the neighborhood
Early morning family bike ride! This might be our last year because those pull-alongs are getting HEAVY. Video: family bike ride
Dylan is Millie's school bestie, and her parents own a cool food truck beer garden in downtown rogers. On nice nights, it's fun to go hang out!
Rise and Shine day! The last friday of every month is a school assembly and everyone wears green!
Labor Day weekend, we went to Papa's for a BBQ, and I actually got to see my own Papa for a short while! He recently moved back to Oklahoma, so I hope we get to see him more.
We also got to spend some time with Hillery's baby, Vincent (aka Vinny). He is the sweetest and smiliest!
Found this sweet pic of Mills around the same age as Vinny. Look at those hand dimples!
The next day, we went to Aunt Dina's lake house and finally met baby Parker (Abby's new baby girl)!! So many babies = baby fever! I wish. ;)
We had a fun day of swimming and visiting, and the boys even got to golf 9 holes!
That night, Millie went home with Nana for some one-on-one time. She loves to dress up and take pictures these days. Maybe she really is a little model in the making. So grown up!
Syd got to hang with just me and JKK at home for some lounge time. She was perfectly fine with it, until the next morning she kept asking when we could go get Millie.
Relaxed Piddy
Relaxed Jaspy
Syd loves taking showers instead of baths now. I love this little face.
This morning, we found the girls in bed together. Millie said Syd came in with a nightmare in the wee hours. Fine with us! I hope they always love each other. They've been bickering quite a bit lately, so I've been trying to counteract it with talks about how we have each other's backs and look out for one another...and how we are a team. I tell them that they will always be best friends, so they better treat each other kindly. I pray some of it sinks in. Truthfully, most days you can tell they love each other. Let's just hope it stays that way!
