Welcome to 2020

The first weekend in January, we went back to Papa's house to celebrate Sheridan's baby shower!  Actually, it was just me and Syd, which was kinda fun to get some alone time.
We got to see Vinny too!
Syd at one vs Syd at six and a half <3
Sheridan and Quincy's baby boy is due later this month!
On the way home, we stopped at Mimi's for some hugs.  She's been needing a few extra this month since the anniversary of Papa's death is coming up.  She's been doing so well though and living a good life.  Proud of her.
Nana rode with us to Tulsa, and Syd was tired, as usual. That kid needs more sleep than most.
Our neighbor had a swimming bday party at the community center, which was exactly what these girls needed!
Check out Mills on the big high dive!
Fitting in a quick Sage sleepover before winter break is over.  Lots of dancing and choreographing going on that night...the next day we remembered it was actually Millie's half bday!!  We celebrated with her favorite things: trampoline park, jimmy johns, and TCBY!  Happy 8.5 to our big, beautiful girl.
Syd squared
She seems older than 8.5 yrs sometimes...
New art purchase - a lovely sun sprinkle
Not ready to go back to school

Syd has the best facial expressions
Lots of this over winter break...
My special homemade cinnamon toast.  I lived on this as a child, and only Syd likes it.  Millie is missing out!

Nana stepped in for the Girl Scout cookie rally, since I had to go to basketball practice.  I love that she has such a special relationship with the girls and she's so generous with her time.
When asked what the troop should use the cookie money for: Syd said "go to florida".  I died laughing.  Sounds good to me!
Cutest little cookie seller ever
Last episode of Netflix's cheer documentary had us all on the edge!
Celebrating their reading accomplishments!
Plank challenge got serious

We chose to stay the night in Tulsa so we could spend time with Coco and fam the next day.  After swimming, we parted Mills hair down the middle to hide the shaved part that's growing out.  Couldn't quit laughing.  It's not her!
Comfy?
morning swim sesh

Time for hibachi with The Wilsons!  Happy 19th birthday to Luc!!

Millie has a reading buddy at school, this little mouse named Chloe.  When she reaches milestones, she earns things for Chloe.  Like this pillow and blanket.  And a little coke bottle,  and even a tiny xmas tree. Her teacher does a good job keeping it fun!
Random pic her teacher posted of pajama day before the break.  Everyone is so colorful and Millie was head to toe black, ha!
Syd is having some anxiety lately.  She has trouble with the unknown.  Selling girl scouts cookies has been quite taxing on her (hardcore introvert that she is), and since we are putting our house up for sale, she's been anxious at the thought of moving.  It's a lot for her, and her teacher noticed she's been down - so she spent some time with the school counselor who is helping her identify her emotions.  When she's upset, she isn't able to tell us why or what she's feeling.  We are trying to help her be able to do that.  Poor girl, so different from her sister in how they process things.
Millie's dance crew performed at the half time of a high school basketball game!  Dylan and Sage are still her school besties

Millie does a great back walk over in the middle of the dance
super star!
