Nana's Holiday Visit

As previously mentioned in the blog post "Trip to Mimi and Pa's", Nana came to visit!  She came in early December, and we went ahead and gave Millie her Christmas gifts from Nana.

Nana got Millie this awesome activity table to stand up and play.  Millie can't stand up on her own yet, but she can stand with assistance and loves playing with all of the cool stuff on the Leap Frog table.  We can even switch the language from English to Spanish.  Pretty fancy...

Nana also got her a baby doll...her very first!  Not sure what we'll name her yet.

And check out this super cute (and super warm) kitty cat hat; nice find, Nana!

I always enjoy my mom's visits.  We had our first snowfall of the year while she was here, which delayed her departure a day (I wasn't sad about that).  And we also had a little sewing lesson.  I've had a sewing machine for years, but I never get enough practice to consider myself able to sew.  This time, though, we had a few days to sew together and I think I'm slowly acquiring a pretty good base knowledge.  Now I just need tons of practice.  This is something I really want to master.  I loved having a mom who could sew (and still do!).  She sewed Halloween costumes and jams (shorts) for church camp; up until a year ago, she was still hemming my work pants for me.  I want to be able to do these things for my kids too.  So if they need a square sewn together, I'm the girl for the job! :)  Ha!  Hopefully, I'll get better...
