Swim lessons have been going sooooo well! They are being taught to swim for a bit, then float like a starfish to get a breath, then swim again...repeat until they get to the side of the pool, lake, pond, etc. I'm so impressed with their progress!
Video 1: Syd doesn't want to do starfish
Video 2:Millie swims swordfish style
they LOVE to sit at the side and watch the tiny babies take lessons before them
beautiful starfish!Syd's face cracks me up. And look! her hair can go in a high ponytail now!
A couple of days there was a professional photographer there to take pics underwater for marketing purposes. She got some cool shots!
Although the swim lessons are worth it, they're definitely taking their toll. I have to wake Syd up from her nap to make it there in time. She's not okay with it.
And poor Mills is just so exhausted. She's been closer to meltdown lately.
I can't look at this picture without busting out laughing.Millie continues to have horrible ear infections this year, so last Wednesday I let her play hooky and go to the library with me and Piddy. We have an appt with the ENT in a couple of weeks. Tubes might be in her future, poor girl.
Since it was an out-of-the-ordinary day, I let them have a quarter to get some candy out of the machine. Syd has asked me to do this every single time we entered the library. Finally, it happened. She had her pockets full of skittles and couldn't have been happier!
This was the cutest: Mills got up from story time and Syd saved the chair for her sister. She was telling people this.twinkletoes!
A day in Kansas City for the 'rents...
ladybug hunting is all the rage these days...
This was sort of a moment for me at the playground: Millie can climb up the huge ladder that has scared the bejeezus out of me for the last 4 years.
Same with Piddy! Going to the playground used to be exhausting...following toddlers around to make sure they don't plummet to their death. Now it's AWESOME! We can just let them go...
Millie's drawings are the coolest now. She adds pigtails and eyelashes to her self-portraits.
Friday zoo trip!
We met cousins Candace, Hudson & Logan there, visiting from San Diego!
Abby and Dina also came! Seeing Abby and her cute little baby bump makes me so happy.
It was super awesome...and super crowded due to school field trips. I really appreciated extra eyes to help keep track of the girls. The girls absolutely love Aunt Dina and Abs. Almost as much as I do. <3
Millie & Hudson really hit it off! She said he was handsome. ;)cuteness
so glad we got to see them!! If we lived closer, Candace would def be one of my BFFs.
Then we got to do something super duper awesome: we stayed the night at Mimi and Pa's! Millie and Syd brought their sleeping bags and had their first sleepover. They did great!! They love hanging with Mimi and Pa. This picture is one of my favorites; look at Mimi clapping for Piddy on stage. ;)
Plus, we got to have cake and celebrate our Mimi's birthday!
Syd is the BEST smoocher
This has been the favorite backyard toy this Spring. They go so high, the swing set lifts up a little. EEEEk.
Millie colored these glasses...wicked cool, no?
Nana went back to CO for a weekend and got to see Brandon, Leann, Ethyn, and Kendyl...I was sad we weren't there with her. Miss these guys!
Last weekend, I took Millie to her very first theater production: Annie! It was kind of hard for her to sit though, but she's been singing the Annie songs ever since, which thrills me to no end. We even got a pic with Sandy!
