Syd is FOUR

Our sweet Sydney is officially FOUR! Time for an update...

Some of her bday interview answers:
BFF: McCall & Addyson
Favorite thing to eat: cheese
Favorite treat: candy canes
Favorite color: purple
Favorite animal: giraffe (?)
Favorite book: Fancy Nancy
Favorite thing to do with mommy: play bingo
Favorite thing to do with daddy: try on dresses (ha!)
Pediatrician visit: eyesight and hearing are both 100%.  She took the two vaccination shots LIKE A CHAMP!  No crying, very brave girl.  Weight: 44.2 lbs (94th percentile); Height: 41.5" (85th percentile); BMI 18 (95th percentile).  Size 10 shoes (her feet haven't grown since last summer); size 5T clothing.  Waiting on allergy testing results because she's definitely got some indoor and outdoor allergies.  Hope she isn't allergic to cats because momma has kitty fever!
She is almost two full inches shorter than Millie was at four years old.  This seems crazy to me because Piddy is so tall compared to her peers!  We are going to have some tall girls in this household!
LOVES to be tickled.  She asks to be tickled at bedtime.  Not so great for winding down, but she does love it so much.  She always asks for me to "gobble her" also, which means I gnaw on her jawbone/neck area and tickle her with my mouth.  Weird, I know, but I've done it to them since they were babies. ;)
Other likes:
Playing pretend with Millie, carrying baby dolls around and pretending to shush them, filling bags/purses full of stuff and carrying them around all day, bike rides where she can relax in the trailer, sprinkle donuts, cheese, birthday cake, playing outside with the neighbors, riding her scooter, camping, Little Gym with her friends, pizza nights, floating in the pool (not swimming, just floating), wearing pretty dresses & accessories, wearing pretty shoes, going to school and playing with her school friends, play doh, coloring, Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck (they have pretty shoes), going to Nana's house, going to the movies and getting popcorn/sprite, eating outside on patios, Chuys, french fries, Pete the cat books, Fancy Nancy books, Pinkalicious books, anything rainbow, hot dogs, and gum...still so in love with gum.
likes "reading" us books at night
likes getting hot chocolate from the Starbucks at Target
likes being chauffeured around in the bike trailer, especially if I bring her lunch
She no longer naps, but it is still very recent, so she falls asleep in the car often.  The month of May has been exhausting for her - so many end of school year activities, dance recital, bday parties, etc.  She tends to get cranky towards the end of the day...
We see these teary eyes a lot at bedtime.  It's hard to go without naps!  The problem with her napping is that she can't just take a quick power nap.  Instead, she naps for 2.5 hours and then has trouble falling asleep at night.  Sorry Piddy...it has to be this way.  Other dislikes: vegetables (it is a fight every single day to get vegetables in this girl), swim lessons, sleeping in (usually up by 5:45am every day).
The day before she turned four, I had a little impromptu photo shoot with her.  I had braided her hair for someone's bday party, and she felt pretty.  This is one of her favorite dresses...super twirly!  Not the best pictures I've ever taken, but I couldn't trash them because they are just so Piddy.  Shows all of her faces.  I love every single one.

Ohhhh Piddy.  I can remember when every single one of these pictures was taken...and thinking you couldn't be any cuter.  You have completed our family so perfectly and really balanced us out, I think.  You do your own thing and never seem to be fazed by my endless need to keep us on schedule.  I ADORE this about you because I get anxious thinking that you girls will only remember me nagging you to get ready to leave the house (put on your shoes!!)!  Yet with you, I know this won't be true because you've never seemed to care.  You don't get upset when I rush you; you still take your own damn time.  You don't get frazzled when I'm griping that you didn't do what I asked you; you continue doing whatever it was that you wanted to do in the first place.  It's frustrating, but I'm starting to respect that you won't be manhandled. ;)  I believe this means you'll never be anyone's doormat, and I'm really happy about this.  I love that you're not Millie version 2.0.  You girls are so different.  Not just in your looks, hair color, body shapes, but most significantly, your personalities.  You play so well together most of the time, but there's enough push-back from you to make things interesting.  And yes, annoying at times due to the bickering.  I refuse to interfere though.  You're strong enough already that we know you can handle yourself.  I hope you always continue to do YOU.  And I hope you always continue to talk with your hands...it's the cutest.  We love your fire and your spunk.  We love you more than you'll ever know, Syd Pid!
