Welp. She's nine and still cute. She took virtual ukulele lessons all summer!
Dressing up the cat never gets old.Luc finally got to have his graduation ceremony! Congrats Luc!
Lots of pool time in the hood before we leave...the countdown is on!
Time to celebrate Cayden turning 9!!
He always picks strawberry cake, which makes me like him even more ;)
We brought this water wheel to the pool party and it was a hit!
Fab Four summers are the best
It's a bit less magical at our neighborhood pool tho
Syd has really been into the American Girl dolls this year. So sweet.
I flew to Denver for a weekend with friends and Nana kept the girls for us part of the time so JKK could work. The girls love Nana sleepovers!
Midge time in the mile high city!
While hundreds of miles away, it was tea time!
Midge and I love to get together and lounge a bit, which includes lots of puzzles. It's great to catchup over a puzzle.
While I was gone, Millie went to James' for a sleepover with him and Dylan. It centered around a lot of dress up. I love getting pics like this!
Oh hey! Mandi came too!
Another day, another puzzle
Guess who else lives in the Denver area?! MY BROTHER!! We had a bit of a catchup ourselves before Midge and Mandi crashed the party. It's never enough time.
He's such a good host and beer connoisseur.
Mask up.I hope you girls some day have a friend that takes really lovely pics of you too.
Always so happy to be home again and back with the fam! Oh look at middle sister pushing baby sister!
The house is getting emptier by the day. Moving week is upon us!
Working in a few last night swims
The water is finally warm enough for me to get in and the girls love it. I'm sorry I don't do it more, but water is just not my thing. My range of comfortability is very small.
Dressed (like a grandma) and ready for another Syd H. sleepover! Those two conservatives are sad to be moving away from each other and their daily time together.
Lily, aka Lilla, aka Lil Bag, aka Baggy gets LOTS of attention these days
handstand! boom!
Driving still weirds her out a bit.
There were a couple of times I had to call in Nana's help with the girls so we could do a lot of the moving. She really treats them like queens with spa days and special treats. They all took turns painting each others toes.
Hair washing and head massages with fancy drinks and candlelight too! oooh la la
They even baked a special cake for our friends that were stopping by on their way cross-country.
Christie and Spence were our first official houseguests in our rent house. We walked up to the square to show them our new hood!
Our rent house is located in such a fun spot - just off the square and it has some really lovely balconies to enjoy. Lily and I have had coffee many mornings out on the back balcony already. Lots of greenery and sometimes a groundhog or the neighbors dog for her to ogle.
Farmers market on the weekends is so fun and only a block away! We've never been able to walk anywhere (every place required a car ride), so this is so great for us!
Millie saw an older couple selling hand sanitizer as a fundraiser for their granddaughter's surgery. She gave up something for herself to buy the fundraiser. Sweet little giving heart.
Look at this door...it's like it was made for Lily!
This rent house was an airbnb before we moved in - it's fully furnished and the decor is kind of funny. I feel like the girls are going to have some pretty funny memories of the art. ;)
little miss bubble blower
Since we had to go back and forth to the old house so much, we've had quite a few "last dinners" there. Chinese food on a box was pretty great tho. The girls were real troopers during the two weeks of moving and didn't complain about all of the car rides too much. ;)
In case you were wondering, the water wheel also works on land!
Cheers friends! In 2020, sparkling water is all the rage.
Dylan came for her first sleepover at the rent house. We kicked it off with some Chuy's patio, which really makes no sense because it's not downtown, but will continue to be a kid fave!
Would you just look at these two cool cats?!
I heard a huge ruckus in the basement and this thing came out...scared me half to death. The horrors of unpacking brought to life by poor Lily.
Finally time to say goodbye to the old house. It's empty and clean. I made the girls say goodbye to their rooms. Awwwwww
Millie actually seemed sad.
We spent a lot of time with our neighbors and friends the O'Rourkes this month. They helped us move and we watched each others kids and swam so much. It's been a busy but fun month!
Jasper and Lily reunited...sort of
One Saturday night, we took all of the kids to the drive-in to watch Twister! OMG, so fun! That movie is so dang suspenseful!
Real photo of the 1984 F-4 tornado that hit my hometown of Mannford OK when I was little. It was a Sunday and we were getting ready for church when the sirens went off. I remember putting on my yellow Care Bears raincoat to go in the tornado shelter in our neighborhood. Then I remember later walking through all of the rubble of our schools and found my brother's school box buried under a cinder block wall. If it hadn't been Sunday, a lot of lives would've been lost. We felt very lucky.
Speaking of Mannford, this is my 9th grade (circa 1994) homecoming dress on Millie. Whoa, sequins for days!
Empty house. No longer ours. Wheeeeeee!!
Goodbye Creekwood, thanks for the memories!
One last summer trip to the Blue Hole with friends
Just wanna remember these beautiful faces forever. What a fun summer!
Adults night out - cheers, JKK!living the dream
I remember doing things like this when I was little ;) Syd loves those smelly markers
Mommy had a birthday! It wasn't quite as exciting this year: 41. But I still felt loved! Syd's cards are always beautiful. JKK took me out to dinner on the preacher's son patio. It was low key and relaxing.
Millie actually left for my bday weekend and went to Branson with James and Dylan. This was a big milestone! She hasn't ever gone on a vacation with someone else. One night they went to Silver Dollar City and stayed until midnight. Wowza, they are such big kids now. She had an incredible time and came home thoroughly exhausted.
While she was gone, Syd bridged (literally) from Daisy to Brownie in Girl Scouts!
JKK has been battling a back injury after moving out of our old house. So the weekends have been pretty relaxing. I made this beauty while lounging. I'm quite proud of it.
Sometimes Syd enjoys being the only child.
But she was really ready for her sister to come home from Branson! Millie was quite thoughtful and brought her some goodies. (Can you see how exhausted Millie is??)
The last few of years, the girls have made me a bday cake at Nana's. This year didn't disappoint! Strawberry cake, my favorite!
And quite the beauty ;)
FORTY-ONE and feeling pretty good these days
The lot we are going to build our house on is right behind this fun contemporary museum. Can't wait!
Our fave roller skating place opened back up, so we went a couple of times before school started back in August. We had to keep our masks on, but we didn't care....just glad to skate!
Brinnlie came with us one day!
Morning bike rides make everything right. Especially when foxy gets to go. See her with her little helmet on in the basket??
Millie is way less joyful about the bike rides. Dare I say she's a bit lazy...
Art installation at the momentary is quite fun to pose for pics
Farmers Market with the Fab Four is a bit less peaceful, but they sure do love macarons from Onyx
This is becoming our town, fo sho. So far we love it!
Coffee time and book time are two of Lily's favorite times.
Next up: Nana's birthday! We love you, Nana. All sixty-one years of you.
Mimi came to stay with Nana for a couple of weeks. We loved getting to see her! It's been since early 2020 since we've seen her due to this dumb pandemic. We finally busted her out of assisted living place and now she's being lovingly passed around to her kiddos. We get her back in November!
Syd squared needs no others. They happily play by themselves.
Who did this?! Tell me right now. No one?? That's odd. Well, I'm leaving this here in case someone wants to fess up some day.
Lily loves being a part of things (here she is watching the girls play in the driveway). Having a pet is so special, and I'm so glad my girls have gotten to experience it. They are better people for it. And they will always know how animals are to be treated. I'm proud of them and their gentle nature with animals. So much empathy. I only wish they had gotten to experience their own cat having kittens, like I got to (ahem, several times). The 90s were different, but I'm not mad about it. The best day of my 6th grade life: waking up to brand new kittens on my feet! I wish that for my girls some day. ;)

Nick and Jack also graduated from high school in July! Both are headed to college in a month, but the twist is that the twins are going to different colleges. Gasp! The first time they will be apart. Sad yet cool...excited for them!
Official residents of downtown, so we will be treating it like our backyard! Roller skating in the mornings became a thing for a couple of weeks...
