End of Summer Catchup

You know...when Lady Gaga comes on...
When at Nana's, ALL the dress-up clothes come out.  I loved doing this at my Mimi's house too. <3

Piddy swears she will get rid of this floatie when she's 5.  Uh huh...
Late-night summer concerts at the Amp, practically in our backyard...
This sums up our summer, pretty much. ;)  Roller skates and bikinis...I love having girls!
Brown bear with her tan lines and showing off her new bubble-blowing skills!
First mommy-Millie shopping trip for school clothes!  Six whole years of not caring one single bit what she wore, and all of sudden, she will declare things like "ewww, that's not my style!".  It was a very interesting shopping trip.  We didn't agree on much. :/
Cayden's turn for bday celebration!  A little afternoon chuck e cheese time...looks so cute in hats!
Firefly Fling at the botanical gardens = not one of my better ideas.  I built this little outing up in my mind so much.  I imagined the girls dressed up like fairies, chasing fireflies around the center field at dusk.  Nope.  Not even close.  It was 1,000 degrees outside, the place was overcrowded, I caught my toe in Syd's shoe on the way in and BROKE IT, and we didn't even make it to dusk.  Sadly, I talked the Cruiks into joining us too.  It was bad.  So we bailed and went to dairy queen.  But ohhhhh, look at Piddy in her beautiful fairy costume.  She makes such a good fairy!

This summer was our first time to visit the Rogers Aquatic Park.  Super fun for the kids!  Slides and lazy rivers and even a diving board!  Millie and Cayden had a lot of fun with diving board, even brave enough to flip off of it.
Syd is not our water baby.  She prefers to stay around the edges, eating snacks and playing by herself.  She's so good at entertaining herself, it isn't a problem.  I'm just realizing how little she likes to be in the water.
We even got some Sawyer time at Mimi and Pa's!  We all love this guy a whole lot.
He has a pretty good time with the girls. :)
Have you even seen bedhead like this?!
Amazeum day-date with Nana!  Millie gets so dark, she looks like she doesn't belong with our clan unless JKK is there...
Syd still loves bedtime tickles.
Beck had his adenoids out and was still for one day in his life.  We love going to visit their incredibly fluffy kitties!
Delivered our birthday party donations to the Rogers Humane Society, and we fell in love with this sweet guy!
It's heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time.
The girls like to flip around these bars, and it'll give you a heart attack ;)

Roaring River water slide and the biggest ice cream cones EVER with Elle and Beckham - SUPER DUPER FUN DAY!  We're going to have to do this outing every summer.
Roller skates on a motorcycle - ha!  We like when Papa rides out for a night with us!
Millie's 1st sleepover!  Elle Belle and Mills had a great time.  I don't think mommy is ready for sleepovers yet though.
dentist appointments - one is nervous...
 ...one is an old pro
give me all the cat clothes
It was raining a lot at the end of July, so we had to move our traditional end of summer party indoors.  Bowling was a lot of fun with this crew!
For my birthday, I got to visit best friends in one of my fave places = the pacific northwest!  Heaven.
When I got home, JKK surprised me with my own kitty!!  Auggghhhhhhhhh, he must REALLY love me.  Big sacrifice on his part; he's a thoughtful gift giver.  So happy to have a pet again!!  Sad update: Biscuits had to go.  He was a shelter kitty and was already very sick. :(
Milestone alert: Syd can swing all by herself!!
Millie is getting better and better at reading.  I think she felt confident going into first grade. I could just smooch all over her sweet face.
Our beautiful town square - we love spending time here and visiting the farmers market
Sometimes it's just too hot to eat at the table and you find a fan to hog.
We did a pretty good job this summer of spontaneously getting together for dinner and playtime with the Cruiks!
Every once in awhile, Syd participates!  Always on her own terms though.
So...since Biscuits had to go back to the shelter, Syd and I just HAD to find us a replacement.  We did a little research and on a very rainy summer day, we made a trip to Siloam for some kitty visits.  This brother and sister pair were perfect and no way was I going to separate them.  Jasper and Lily officially have a new home.  Surprise JKK!
Oh man, they were wild when we first brought them home.  They broke a lamp the first day they were here, running around like maniacs!  But my gosh, every time we touched them, they purred and loved us back.  Such a good fit for our family!

Syd shows off her signature rainbow style of coloring
Weekend adventure in the bus to Eureka and Turpentine Creek!
Ermagherd, look how small!  They always sleep and lounge touching each other.  It's like human twins, the bond is amazing.
Nana's birthday!!  Isn't she a beauty??  We tried out a chocolate malt milk bar cake this time.  Not too shabby!
We all adore the kitties!  I think it was smart of us to take a pet break for two years, but jeez, there is nothing like having kittens again! <3
Caught in the act of loving on each other.  Millie is always kissing on Piddy.  Now the kitties are getting love too, and it was a long 6 weeks of battling ringworm from the shelter...on both pets and Pid.  Millie caught some sort of staph infection at the same time and there were so many different medications, it was insane!  I'm all for giving a shelter pet a chance, but man, that was hard.  Ha!  Worth it...
Summer weekends with daddy at the pool were the absolute best!  Daddy actually gets IN the pool.  And we bring snacks and drinks for the whole day.  It's pretty great family time!
Just when the summer is ending, Syd decides she will start jumping in and going under water!  Thanks to JKK.  She was so fearless!  This picture is priceless.
Fab four has grown up at this pool - so many good times, so much pizza!

Another great summer in the books!  Since it is currently January and freezing outside, these pics are killing me.  Can't wait for June!
