Millie on the Swim Team

Note: I'm sad I haven't been able to post on the blog for the past 6 months.  My computer has been out of commission. I'm am technologically challenged.  Going to do my best to catch it up now...

Millie participated in the Rogers Aquatic Park swim team this last July!  What an experience!  She's never been in a race before, and she's never competed before...so this was quite the learning experience.  She was nervous, she was brave, she was proud - all the emotions for both parents and child.

She did SO awesome.  She is a great swimmer, and she tried her best!  She had 3 swim meets, and she won several heats!  She was one of the youngest on the team too.  There were several overwhelming moments though - a few tears.  First time competing in front of such big crowds and cheering.

Coco and family came out for a couple of meets, and so did Nana!  Syd even vomited twice at a very crowded meet.  It was quite the month!

I had so much fun watching her gain confidence in herself!  She currently says she doesn't want to do it next summer, but we'll see.  Maybe if she had a friend to do it with her, she would try again.  I'm not sure our Millie Bear feels the competitive vibe though. ;)

Maybe it's just that they force her to wear a one-piece and she prefers a cute bikini instead. ;)
