Funny story: the school does a mother's day fundraiser where people donate coffee cups, the school fills them with flowers, then they sell them to the kids to give to moms. Millie was too indifferent to help pick one out for me, so Syd was solely in charge of the picking of the cup. Mr. Right it is! I laugh every time I see it. And look how much she loved it!
Syd made this sweet card for me and planted a flower for me. A few days before she gave me the card, she randomly asked me what was my favorite thing to do. I said "oh i like to go to concerts, and i really like family bike rides". She looked so sad and said "that's not what i put down". Then I understood this was about the annual questionnaire. Ha! Poor Syd. She did this last year too. She gets heartbroken if she doesn't guess the right answer! She's very thoughtful.
Mother's Day questionnaire from Syd:
My mom is 28 years old (she's my favorite child). She likes to sew (she means embroider). The best thing she cooks and her favorite food is both PIZZA (duh). Her fave thing to do to relax is take naps (false - I never nap). We like to read together (true - I hope forever and always). She is really good at cooking (mediocre at best). As you can see, my mom is special because she gives hugs all the time (I do love to hug her lots!).
Later in the week, we had a muffins with mom celebration at school!
Millie had this picture of herself with a poem she had written on her desk, and I teared up reading it...had to compose myself in her classroom. ;) The sweetest thing ever. She's so proud of it! We hung it on the fridge and she reads it daily. Millie is very sensitive - this means so much coming from her!
Syd looks forward to muffins with moms all year because she "loves muffins so much". True story.
Later the same day her teacher sent me this picture with these kind words: " She is such a blessing! So independent and working so hard!!".
In case you girls ever read these blog books, let me tell you a few things I've learned about myself lately. Recently, me and some of my closest friends have figured out our enneagram numbers and it's kind of been eye-opening. I'm a nine through and through, and the following are several things that really are true, when it comes to my personality. I'm a peacemaker, and I hate to make decisions. And don't make me mess up my routine. Yep yep yep.
