April - The Month of Guinness

Spring weather is here and so is First Friday on the square!  I took Charlotte and Syd, and Millie ran off with her friends.

Look at this bunny.  Look at his face.
snuggle bunny
Look at this teenager.  So cute and grown up!

Charlotte stayed the night and I took them to the Amazeum early Saturday morning.
It's always so funny to see them pretending to be grocery store clerks in the Walmart store section.  I loved that job in real life!
This girl looks lonely...time to look for a companion!

Meet Manny, aka Guinness, aka Guinney Pig, aka Piggy.  I saw him come up on an instagram post from a local shelter and knew he was one we had to meet.  Surprisingly, JKK agreed!
Next thing you know, we've got ourselves a new family member!!
We changed his name from Manny to Guinness because of his Black and Tan coloring.  I ended up calling him Guinney Pig or Piggy the most because he has a little snorting sound he makes often.
Since he is a shelter dog, we don't really know his background.  He was picked up around Hot Springs and has a wonky back leg - possibly hit by a car and injured.  Apparently, he also had some run-ins with cats while he was living on the streets because he was terrified of Lily!
Oh my gosh, we are all so happy.  He fits right in!

ALMOST everyone was happy.
Look at him!  His bad leg makes him unstable in the car, so I got him a car seat.  Such a funny guy.  He's quiet and never barks unless the cat provokes him.  He's happy to just go with the flow.
He participated in school pickup like a pro.  Interacted with the kids and dogs with no problems.  Yay - making Syd's dreams come true!
Syd has been enjoying her Sunday Little Bellas biking group in Bella Vista
Guinness doesn't mind being dressed up either!
He seemed a little cold in the spring chill, so he wore this sweatshirt quite a bit in April.
Trying to keep this girl happy
There's always an adjustment for both the animal and the family when adding a pet.  But truly, he was pretty easy.  He did like to "mark" stuff when first coming into the house, which is gross.  But that calmed down over time.  He really just wanted to be near us and he seemed to enjoy all of our company.  If you sat on the couch, he was partially on top of you.

First camping trip of the year!  First camping trip for Guinney Pig!

He loved it.  He did great!

Moms win trivia night!
His preferred seat in the car because he can see the best here. Ears up!

Easter weekend: Christie, Spence, and his parents were in the middle of a cross-country road trip.  They stopped in NWA for the weekend where we got to show them around a bit!
Spence whipped up some delicious baguettes for us.
Per tradition, the girls stayed the night at Nana's so that the Easter Bunny could find them!

And Mimi was visiting too!

I hosted an Easter brunch for the group and tried to keep it as casual as possible with so many people and so many dietary restrictions.  It was interesting, but I think it worked.  Throw a puzzle out and it really saves the day by giving the people something to do!
Guinness might've stolen the show though.  He made his rounds and exhibited perfect manners.

We walked everyone over to our house build site and visited The Momentary.
Christie's dad, Steve, came to pick them up so he was able to spend an hour with us too!  The best Easter we've had in years.  I forget how fun it is to host since the pandemic sort of put a halt to that and then moving to the rent house.  I'm so ready to have our own house again and invite people in!
Millie has such a beautiful, gentle way with animals.  She instinctively knows what they need.  She doesn't rush them or push them or make them mad.  She just is herself and lets them be in her loving way.  What a special girl she is.
Climbing trees and entertaining herself, as usual.  Also special in her own way.  I don't have to entertain this girl, she's perfectly happy to entertain herself.
Syd decided she wanted her hair cut off before her birthday, so we made it happen.  She loves it!  I love it.  We all love it.
Getting used to each other.  Funny story tho: one night while the girls were getting ready for bed, the four humans were upstairs and the two pets were downstairs.  All of a sudden, we hear the most awful yelping and crying from the dog...sounded like he was being murdered.  JKK flew down the stairs to find that Baggy was just getting her bluff in.  Hahahaha, it was so ridiculous, we couldn't quit laughing.

I don't think I have ever taken so many pictures of one pet.  He is just perfect and so funny all the time with his silly little face and ears and eye mask.  He's such a great size and he's so calm because he's probably like 5 years old.  The shelter told us between 1-2 years but the vet was like "oh definitely much older".  Sadly, they found a pretty serious heart murmur, and they want to amputate his leg and neuter him soon.  Not looking forward to that, but in the meantime, he's happy and so are we.

Look at this beautiful coconut cake JKK made for Mimi's birthday! (*wink wink*)
Well the spring school pictures came in.  AND I died laughing.  Syd attempted the funny face!  Her eyes are crossed, but she forgot to show her funny single toothy smile!  Still an admirable effort.  The fall pictures are to hand out and go in the yearbook.  The spring pictures are just extra, so we plan to do something funny with them from now on.  I fully support this.
Heading to Eureka Springs for another camping weekend!

Update: Mimi enjoyed her cake that mom delivered to Tulsa <3
Sunset at Wanderlust is always pretty

Aunt Coco came to camp too!!  We rode the trolley into town for lunch and shopping.

Loving this short 'do on her!

Cheers to Bubba - this was April 23, his birthday!

Lily was there too and got to go for some walks with us
She mostly likes just watching from inside the safety of the RV (or patio)
Such a great ride-along doggy!!
The staircase in our new house is going to be wicked cool!
Oh my poor little guy had his leg chopped off and was neutered at the same time.  It was a lot for him.
Eating lunch with my third grader!  Parents haven't been allowed in the schools for a couple of years due to COVID, so it was fun to be back!

Piggy does NOT like the cone.  His recovery is having some issues - heading back to the vet.
