First part of May - Goodbye Guinness

Showing my Oklahoma roots by showing up in boots!  Tim McGraw concert with Beatrice and Emily and I couldn't be more excited!
Fit as a fiddle and we sang every word!
While I was at the concert, Aunt Midge arrived!
Our poor Piggy is having trouble going potty after the neutering procedure, so we walk around outside a lot.
Thankfully the weather is beautiful, so it's not a burden.
He looks like a superhero with his eye mask and cape on!  Super Piggy!
signs that aunt midge wuz here

he sleeps a lot, trying to recover
mood
Dropping him off at the vet for awhile - they are going to try to do a catheter and some meds to heal him faster
Norah's bday party - (pictured from left is Syd, Natalia, Norah, and Marian)
Our girl is graduating from high school!!  She's off to Colorado State University in the fall!
Syd's school fundraiser was a county fair and she loved it!

Since Guinney was staying at the vet's office, we took Baggy camping on her own.  He was missed.
Future camp counselor!

Devil's Den is so gorgeous in the spring when Lee Creek is full and the water is so clear
The girls love to walk to the general store for a sucker
We always enjoy the Den and it's peacefulness
Syd's pictured with their class lemonade stand project
The good news is he's back!  I cannot tell you how attached I have become to this dog.  He is my best buddy.  The bad news is, he's only back for a day.  The doctor found that he wasn't healing after the procedure because he has cancer in his urethra.  He is unable to urinate on his own and doesn't have much time.  We decided to bring him home for a last hurrah and treated him like a king.  He got to eat steak and pick up the girls from school one last time.  We took him for walks and loved on him and said our goodbyes.  It was wonderful and excruciating at the same time.

We even took him to the new house and he "christened" Syd's room ;)

We had this good boy from April 5 - May 10.  It was no where near long enough.  His absence is still felt today as I write this (crying) six months later.  I'm so thankful for the month we had with this special boy, and I know he was lucky to have had his last month be with us - his people who loved him dearly.  I wish it hadn't taken us so long to find each other.
Lots of mental health walks in the weeks that followed.  Love these beautiful trails that surround our house.
Life goes on.  Syd psyching herself up for fourth grade and leaving behind her beloved Mrs. Held.
Millie's 5th grade choir concert provided endless entertainment!  Sidenote: her dimple is the best.
It's hard to see, but Millie is on the back row with her eyes closed and her hands over her ears.  Have we discussed how terrified Millie is of people throwing up near her?  It's moved to phobia-territory it's gotten so bad.  There is a boy near her - back row, across the little aisle - who throws up when nervous.  Apparently he threw up in dress rehearsal, and possibly in previous concerts.  The details are still sketchy to us, but not to millie.  She was in flight mode the entire concert and couldn't concentrate.  Any movement he made, she ducked her head and covered her ears.  Like a tornado drill.  John and I were laughing so hard, we couldn't keep it together.  She was super annoyed with us.
Out of harms way, she's back to herself.

a much deserved treat after an anxiety filled night, ha!
Millie loves one-on-one time with Nana, so she went for a sleepover the next night.  Nana is so good about snuggling with her!
Baggy letting me know the car is moving.  She isn't as good at school pickup as Guinney Pig was...
It's nowhere near warm enough for the Blue Hole, but you can't tell the O'Rourkes that with Maine blood flowing through their vains...
So here we are on May 14.  Surprised they weren't turning blue...in the blue hole.

Caught some cool things that day!

Only one more sleep until this kiddo is NINE!
