Back to school after the break! BTW, Millie now HATES this coat. She hates all things pink, and now prefers blue and black items of clothing.
Syd had an extra day before going back to school, so she got to do an art camp with Anniston! This is kind of a big deal because the art camps usually start at age 5. Mrs. Melanie lets Syd slide though, since she's such a good minder. Any kind of arts and crafts project is right up Syd's alley!
We've had a lot of time together this year, waiting on Mills...
Isn't this neat? Found it in Millie's backpack.
Millie: feeding chickens? The girls might own a hair salon one day ;)
Officially six and a half! Yes, that is ice cream on her waffles
In January, Millie started a dance class! It's hip hop and jazz because she said she wanted to go to the kind of class where they "just let you dance". She loves it! And sometimes we stop for lunch on the way home. This particular day, we stopped at a new McDonalds and they had Grimace and the Hamburglar there! The girls had no idea who they were, which made me a little sad.
dance party USA
Our favorite winter activity became roller skating! On Sundays, we would head to the rink for a few hours of fun. The kids loved it, and they've all improved so much. Even the mommas get out there now. Fun for all!
I'm not lying, a hair salon may be in their future...
Millie and Sage became best friends in class this year, and they became Daisy Girl Scouts together as well!
A lovely drawing of Millie's teacher
Syd still working on her name and tracing
High Rise for McCall's bday
I do not like winter, but when I look back at these pics, it doesn't seem so bad ;) Looks quite relaxing, actually...
Making some interesting thank you notes for Christmas presents
Syd loves to play with play-doh!
And sometimes she makes the most beautiful stuff! Rainbow, of course.
Can you see the picture of the girl has no head? Pretty cool, Mills!Sometimes we would take a break from skating and do other things. These two never tire of each other. Every single day, Millie walks out of school and immediately asks if we are going to see Cayden.
Syd is unimpressed with Millie's ability to eat an entire bowl of cucumbers.
It's a journey: the S is now facing the right direction, but that darn D is backwards now!
JKK and I had a silent auction win for one night's stay at a local hotel. It was set to expire, so we enjoyed a little staycation, which turned out to be super fun! The girls loved swimming and eating at the hotel restaurant. And FINALLY the girls sleep so well in hotels. It's only taken 5 years!
Lunch with the first graders - I definitely went much less this year, but I still really enjoyed it when I did. It's so cool to see them hanging with their friends and being big kids!
Millie's little notes make our day <3
Blue day at school!
One of JKK's college friends sent the girls a huge box of horses to play with! What a treat!Look at that name! Those free-hand letters look awesome too!
Groundhog day! Syd's rainbow style of coloring is actually spot on with that black spot looking like a shadow ;)
Millie's drawing also looks to have a shadow, although she said it was only because she was half-done with it
stuff on my cat
When the winter blues really get you down, Chuy's will cheer you up! Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. (the girls will never get this reference)maybe squeezing a bit too hard
Millie: a singer
Girl Scout fun with robot cars!
Valentine's Day party: I am not creative, so we bought a kit to make a valentine's box. I was worried it would look to girly for her current dark taste, but she seemed okay with it!
It's actually one of the best parties of the year. The kids love handing out the cards to each other.
Lots of candy in the valentines these days...
Cupcake the classroom pet
Watch out, Cupcake...Piddy Poundcake is in the house!
Millie and Sage, always together. Always doing cartwheels and secret handshakes. Two peas in a pod.
Sweet girls - I love how Millie dotes on Syd at these parties. She really watches out for her and shares all of her goodies with her. Millie has the sweetest little heart. So giving.
JKK and I celebrated our dry January by attending the CFF Wine Opener ;)
Next up: cruise time!
