It's November! We dropped Millie off at a birthday party/hotel sleepover with new school friends on our way out of town. We were camping at Withrow Springs and there is no cell service there. I told Millie that she wouldn't be able to get ahold of us, but in an emergency, she could always call Nana. Around 10pm, I drove up to the top of the hill to check in with her and she sent me this picture - said she was having fun and they just finished swimming. Cute and happy. The next morning when I drove to get cell service, I had a message from Nana. Apparently, Millie called her at 1:30am to come get her because she couldn't sleep. Doh! Nana was so sweet about it and was happy to help...but we had to talk to Mills about what constitutes an emergency. Ha! Classic Mills. JKK drove back to get her and she joined our camping trip that afternoon!
It was sunny but COLD!Felt okay when moving, so we went on a hike with the McClungs. I was only 10 days out from surgery, so I was moving pretty slow.
This is the same creek we floated a few years ago with the McClungs...remember when brave Millie was jumping off these cliffs?!
I love this pic of Syd...funny girl
Baby sister didn't get out as much this trip. We didn't use the back patio because it was so cold. But JKK made a daily fire and we let her come hang out.
There were 5 families there from our old neighborhood, so it was great for the kids to have friends to play with. Jaymie Welch planned a cute craft for the kiddos. We even did a tour of the group's RVs while sipping on a hot toddy.
The last day was the warmest, so we actually hung out all day and it was lovely! We listened to old CDs and ate burgers and read by the fire. Syd likes to bike a lot. Our final camping trip of the year - trying to make it last as long as possible...
No cell service, Mill. Keeps checking tho ;)
Hot
Poodle turns 8.5! She's funny, thoughtful, a good helper, a momma's girl, a math star, and VERY into bingeing Netflix kids' TV series. She still loves Roblox and visiting all the playgrounds she can find. She's outdoorsy and happiest on her bike or playing with her new friends from school. She's having a good year!
She's 4.5 feet tall now!
Nana and I took the girls to Colorado for a weekend visit with Brandon and his kiddos.
Best pic I could get ;)
Bert! The dogs are still the stars, but boy does Millie love visiting family. She's just so warm and loving with them. Not just on this trip but on all of our trips to see various family members. It's like she can feel that they belong to us!
Ethyn and Asher. Asher will put you to work throwing balls for him to fetch!
JKK had to work, so he stayed home and sent us pics of Lily wondering where we were
We stayed at a hotel in Boulder and got in a little gym time
It was cold, but we had a little walkabout in Boulder.
The girls loved the street performers
Throw it.
Here she is, our girl Kendyl! We picked this weekend because she had a cheer competition. It was fun to see her perform! Her team is so good!
Senior year for this girl!
We got to see Aunt Leann at the competition. Things are different now after the divorce and we didn't get to see her as much. Will have to do better in the future about making time for her!
These kids love nothing more than a hotel buffet.
Ethyn is the dog whisperer. He's always had such a calm, loving nature. Animals love him.
Brandon's backyard view is incredible!
Syd's favorite good boy
We tried to get out for a bit to run off some energy...
It was a bit too windy tho for some of us
Not too cold for Syd. Everyone else went back to the house and she wanted me to find a playground. She lets me sit in the car and read while she plays.
Asher loves to play catch. I like this pic - B showing his old pitching form ;)
We visited Kendyl at work - Sweets the ice cream shoppe!
A good visit - headed home! We miss JKK.
The ice skating rink is back!
Thanksgiving Day 2022: we dressed up and went to The Hive for a special Thanksgiving lunch...and it was lovely! The food was delicious, the company was better, and we didn't have to cook a thing.
Syd's new fave accessory
The green apple cotton candy is always a hit
Thankful for this little family of mine!
The best mother-in-law/son-in-law combo <3 We are thankful to have mom close so she can be a part of our lives!
Cuddles before we leave the kiddos with Nana to fly to Chicago for the weekend. Syd always gets a bit anxious about me leaving.
