For the second year in a row, we chose to go to Miami for the week between Christmas and New Year's. Almost at the southernmost tip of the US, it has the best chance for warm weather (when you don't want to leave the country). This year did not disappoint! The weather was downright magical!!
We chose a smaller boutique hotel with a bit of a retro vibe. It was a fun choice!
Miami Beach is just gorgeous. The sand is soft, the view is heaven, and the water was actually warm enough to get in this year.

We basically alternated days between the pool and the beach. No crazy agenda for us this trip. It was perfectly relaxing.
Back home it was cold and rainy, which always makes you feel better about spending money on a vacation. ;) Lily loved her week at Nana's, thanks to her special Christmas gift that allowed her to spend some time outdoors. Mom said she would get inside it when she was ready to go out...easy enough to read.
This hotel had some great wine also, which makes JKK happy.
This guy was absolutely gorgeous. His orange fringe was so brilliant in person. He mostly hung out on the fence until all of a sudden he wanted a drink. He came to the pool to drink, but we all were not prepared for how fast he moved. It was very impressive and slightly terrifying.
Pics with iguana <3
Meanwhile back home...
We found a 3-D showing of the new movie Sing 2. It was fun to get out of the hotel for a night!
I love waking up to a view of the ocean. Peaceful.
Favorite pic of the trip? Probably. Look at this beauty. So thankful for this family time together.
Also so thankful for this guy and that he could take a much-deserved vacation. He works his brain so hard!
New Year's Eve 2021 in Miami was pretty great and one we will remember!
We had a fun fancy four-course dinner at the hotel restaurant. The kids just sort of came and went, which is great for them because it was a long one!
Second fave pic of the trip...definitely. She's so funny!
See ya later, Miami. Thanks for the gorgeous memories!
We got home super late....worth it.
Mills scraped her head on the bottom of the pool...also worth it.
Happy to be home with this girl, even tho she was really settling in at Nana's...
The girls were also happy to be home with their new stuff. We are ready for 2022, but not quite ready to go back to school yet!
