Wowza, she's in double digits...two whole hands! Ten years of Millie - can't imagine life without her morning hugs, dimpled infectious smile, sassy attitude, messy room, and precious little face. Ten was definitely not this cool when I was growing up. She's already acting like a teenager most of the time, but my favorite times are when she remembers she's a kid and it's okay to play pretend with her sister.
The first thing she does every morning is come and give us a hug. I'm already mourning the loss of these hugs before she even stops doing them. She's a great hugger.

We got her a big box of goodies, just like we did for Syd this year, and it was a hit! Some new tie-dye crocs, a new hydroflask decorated with stickers, and some wireless headphones were her favorites. No phone yet, even though she's dying for one!
Instead of cake for breakfast, she requested a bagel. Millie loves to get ice cream cake for her bday, and she wanted to save that for when Dylan was here.

A healthy girl, but we need to limit the ice cream. Since we've moved to downtown, we visit the spark cafe too much and it has not only added a few pounds that Dr Averitt is not thrilled with, but it has also raised her cholesterol. We are supposed to go for a low saturated fat diet with her to get that cholesterol back down. A good wakeup call for all of and no permanent damage done. We are on it!

Syd's gift: bubble tea and a trip to Fast Lane!
Before the festivities began, we ran over to Nana's for birthday hugs and a squeeze from Pringles.
Millie didn't want to do a party this year; instead, she wanted a "yes day" with one friend. (We did set some limits) Millie generously offered to allow her sister to bring a friend along on this journey too. Thus, we picked up Syd H and our first stop was Starbucks!
Then we picked up BFF Dylan and headed to the aquatic center to roast ourselves in the July sun! The big girls love the big kid slides. So really I didn't see them much while we were there.
This one is still my buddy though.
These two kept it pretty tame at the water park. No big slides, but a lot of time in the lazy river. They are very much in-sync.

Back home to recharge with some cake! She's worn out already!

Millie chose a Mexican restaurant for dinner because she wanted them to plop a sombrero on her head and sing to her in front of the whole restaurant. So here we are.
The problem was that Millie was exhausted and couldn't sit still. She hit that weird point where kids have to keep moving or they will fall asleep. So her behavior was a bit manic - she was up and down and all around that restaurant and when they came to sing, she wasn't in her seat. We had to call her over and she had just stuffed a huge gumball in her mouth. It was a bit awkward, but she did look cute in that hat!

Still not done. Last place was CLIMB for some evening "rock" climbing. JKK and I didn't climb, but we did run around hooking and unhooking kids for a couple of hours. They all had such a good time and were 1000% exhausted by 8:30pm. A successful birthday!
These towers are terrifying. Millie eventually made it to the top! The whole place is such a mind game...you can't get hurt, but you can't really convince yourself of it.
Then Dylan came home with us for a sleepover, and it was a great yes-day for Mills! Happy Birthday to our kind, loving, super special Millie Bear. We are so glad you're ours!
