Dear sweet Camilla,
This month has brought so many changes. You started rolling over from tummy to back. You don't do it often, but I've seen you do it several times now. When you're on your back, you can really move...side-to-side and all around in a circle. You also really scare us by trying to squirm out of your infant chair, yellow rocker, and swing. We have to strap you in most of the time now, which you normally don't care for. It's especially hard at night to strap you in to your rocker while trying to keep you asleep. I've been trying to use the pack-n-play bassinet in our room more for your naps and to start you out in at night so that, hopefully, we can get rid of the yellow rocker soon. You're almost too big for it, but you love that reclined position. I have to admit, it looks much more comfortable than being spread eagle on a flat surface.
You've been making it into our bed much more lately, which makes me nervous, but it is so hard to stay strong when you sleep so well in our bed. Plus, its just fun to have you wake us up with your morning babbling. :) One of these days we'll use that crib!
You've really been trying to sit up by crunching your midsection and legs up; it's the perfect little boat pose. Abs of steel, here we come. We've been working on the sitting up during playtime, and you're doing so well. I'm positive you'll have that down within the month. Standing is still your preferred position though. On our laps, on the counter, on the bed...we help you stand up wherever we have you so that you can look around and check everything out. You're so curious! And it is so funny to see you watch the pets as they walk by. When you hear Greenlee's claws on the floor, you start looking around for her. I keep asking you "where's the puppy?" or "where's our kitty?".
Your hair is getting so much longer. We crack up on bath days at your super fuzzy hair standing up. I can get a tiny bow in it now, but isn't very sturdy. See...here you are with a cute bow (and giving mouth-to-mouth to your sweet little lamb).
Everything goes in your mouth now. Hands, toys, blankets, bibs, my hair...it doesn't seem to matter. There is so much drool! You still love your pacifiers, but every once in awhile you are happy to use your thumb in its place. You are the best eater. We introduced cereal this month and you love it! Sometimes you make moaning noises, and you'll let me know if I'm too slow in between bites. We also had to introduce some pear juice this month to get your system flowing again. The first gulp produced a strange face, but you took it in stride and went on to finish the bottle. We've really been working to get you used to bottles and having others feed you this month, and it seems to have really paid off. I now feel much more comfortable leaving you knowing that you will take a bottle from someone other than me. You've even started holding the bottle; it's super cute, and of course, it makes me even further convinced that you are a genius baby. :)
You're generally pretty easy to get down for naps and to sleep at night. We still have a few nighttime meltdowns, but I think it is just when you get overtired. It's so easy to keep an eye on you with our video monitor. Dad and I can tell immediately when you are up because you stick your legs straight up in the air. We think it's hilarious, and we'll just yell out "feet up" to let the other one know that you are ready to be picked up.
It's been another easy month, and you're just so easy to love. Looking forward to our first Christmas together! Oh, Millie Bear, we're so glad you're ours...
