Back in the swing of things

School routine is back, and I've promised not to yell in the mornings.  So we have rules now, such as, you cannot play or pick up a toy until your clothes are on and hair is fixed!  It's hard.  Millie has been sleeping later, so I usually have to wake her up and then she feels rushed.  The struggle is real...for every family in America.  Thankfully the ride to school is always filled with music and laughing and 99% of time they get out of the car happy.
I cleaned out the upstairs closets and the girls have discovered headbands again.  Millie doesn't really care much, but Syd is thrilled to add accessories to her wardrobe.
Scooter girl!  She flies down the sidewalk, so we've been making her wear her helmet after a few crashes.
Still sporting a black eye from a twirling accident.  She pushes on her bruise really hard and then informs me it still hurts.
Look who came to visit!  Anybody want a hot dog from King Kyle??
Saturday morning trampoline fun
The Nanas came to our rescue: parents got a night out in Tulsa and the two Nanas took care of the kiddos for the night.  We decided the occasion was worthy of some TEAM NANA shirts.  I told Millie that Kyle's Nana was coming on Saturday.  She said "Is our Nana coming too?".  When I said yes, she said "well that's going to be a fun day!".  ;)
We met up with some old friends from our Tulsa days to attend Wild Brew - thanks Nanas!
The kiddos loved it!
A lot of time was spent sans clothes...the girls are rubbing off on Kyle.
We even got in some swimming...and snacks

Millie and Kyle had a cannonball contest
It was a tie.
Midge and I had some fun of our own in honor of Sunday funday. <3
Syd is absolutely loving school!  She loves her friends and her teacher.  She loves singing and dancing and the playground and reading.  She loves taking her lunch and even napping there.  The only thing she isn't loving is that the nap time isn't longer.  This girl loves to nap.  And accessorize.
This is Syd's sweet picture on Mrs. Kim's board; every morning, she has to find her name and match it up to her face.  I love it!  Brings back memories of when Millie had to do this.
Back to the Little Gym for Syd.  Much more her speed.  She's been slow to warm up to the guy teacher, but otherwise, she's loving being in there with her friend Tate.
Millie met the real Sugar Plum Fairy and was starstruck!  Some of the ballerinas there even went on pointe and Millie was quite impressed.  She's in a dance class at her school and she is really loving it. She's been practicing her positions and leaping all over the house.
Slumber party at Mimi's!
Mommy/daughter hugs
Aunt Dina will be a grandma any minute now!!
Papa cracks up at the girls non-stop.  Millie has zero interest in personal space.  Makes me so happy that the girls know Mimi and Pa so well.
The girls stayed at Mimi's while JKK & I went to a wedding! <3  I love weddings.  Fun date nights.
slumber party was a success...thankful they can sleep anywhere!
The perfect weekend to try out our new bike trailer for Syd and pull-along for Millie!  So happy about this.  We rode pretty far for our first time - up to a local restaurant, had a cookie and drink, and then headed back home.  It was hard pulling the trailer...good exercise.  Looking forward to doing this more when it cools off a bit.
Labor day was a good break for us all!  Lots of time outside, just relaxing.
love this beautiful freckled face
New helmet, new pose.  Sassy.
Another day, another headband.  Back to school!
