Muff Lodge with the Fab Four

We like to take the kiddos to the Great Wolf Lodge about every 2 years.  Since they are older, and it's much easier, Amanda and I decided to let the dads off the hook this year.  So just she and I drove them down to the bigger and fancier lodge in Dallas!  A longer drive, but it turns out it was worth it! (Remember when Millie called it the Muff Lodge for years??)

We made it!  Ears - check.  Swimsuits - check.  Excitement - check.

This one is much bigger and has taller slides.  The kids loved it!
We got one of those wolf pass things that has a lot of activities for them to do at the lodge.  Turns out, it's a bit too many things.  We had to try hard to fit everything in!  They got their wands, but Cayden was really the only one that wanted to complete the quests. ;) They do love running around the lodge on their own though...

First night ended with the dance party, which only Millie wanted to participate in.  Everyone else was zonked!
Put a fork in her.
We surprised our girls with bunk beds this time!  They absolutely loved it and slept so well, being properly worn out and all...

7am second morning: Beck is climbing the wolf ;) kids are rearing to go!
And guess whose birthday it is today?!  Cayden!!  July 14, 2021: 10 years old.  Man. Time flies...
Fab Four <3
Morning yoga with the wolf pack

Since this was our only full day here, we rented a cabana to have a meeting spot and place to chill.
And a place to read...

One of the lodge activities was an outdoor ropes course.  They look all excited and good to go now...
...but once the girls got up there, they turned into whiny scaredy-cats!
Cayden and Beck did great

Beck even helped the girls out sometimes.  The whining got so bad with my two kids that I had to leave them outside and go back in.  I couldn't get up there with them and I couldn't do anything to help.  They were getting angry, so I just let the instructors take care of it.  See ya!
Phew, back in our suits and ready to swim again.  Amanda and I went down the big slides with the kids so many times.  It was so fun, and we even got a workout in with those stairs!  The howling tornado was actually quite intense; Syd wouldn't even go on it!
Another time out from the water park to make our build-a-bears!  Syd's favorite activity!
One bear and three wolves later...
Arcade was a hit, as usual.  Millie spent all of her tickets on candy, of course.
Friends for a decade!
Ooooh la la
Longest day ever and these pics are my favorite because it shows the true level of exhaustion.
I mean...how can you look at this and not laugh?!  Bed time ASAP
The final morning, and Beck's vibe tells it all.  We came, we conquered, it's time to get outta lodge.
Always with a stuffed animal in tow
Thanks for the memories Muff Lodge!
Millie's iPad is always full of pictures and videos.  I love how they show her personality so well.
Another successful lodge trip!

More Summer Break

One night, I walked into Syd's room to find JKK patiently waiting on the bed...

...like this.  Apparently, Syd has been dressing him up.  And he's such a good sport about it!

More nightly dress up

Saying goodbye to our boy Guac.  He and his brother M&M went to live with one of my book club friends in our old neighborhood!
Now we are down to the last two: Slim Jim and Pringles <3  We have loved all of the kitties, and Nana is such a good foster mom!
Millie REALLY has a soft spot for cats.  I'm thinking Syd is going to be more of a dog person.  They both love all animals though.
Let's not forget about baby sister at home!
Always happy to be picked up
On a Saturday in July, we went to Papa's and Grandma Tricia's to celebrate the girls birthdays!
The girls were given a bunch of fun camping gear: binoculars, compass, headlamps.  They were a hit!
PBR Saturdaze

Look at this fun cake!
Their faces while he is trying to light the candle are hilarious.
Is Millie covering her ears because she's afraid it's a bomb?!

Millie was also given this microphone and she did interviews all over the house that day...pretending she was a news reporter.  She even interviewed us about an F4 tornado that hit close by (not really, but we all had a good time acting our parts during her interviews)!  She is so good in front of the camera and on stage - a natural born performer with no stage fright and a great public speaking voice! Maybe someday she really will be a newscaster.

Our builder finally poured the footings for our house and we were so excited to visit and see some progress!

There are tons of great places to bike in our area...one of them is 5 minutes from Nana's house.  Coler Bike Preserve is beautiful!

Syd LOVES hitting the trails.
Millie does not.  And that's okay, it's just not her thing!
Love this pic of them.  The girls love Nana so much and are so close to her.  Very thankful we live close to her.
Never enough rainbow sightings.
Millie Marie.  Future songwriter, perhaps?
I know it says Do Not Read, but she leaves them lying around everywhere.  Her song lyrics are so good!
