18 Months Old

Syd Pid is 1 1/2 years old now!  And she loves to jump!  Video: Syd gets some air
Her hair is getting so long!  It's still wavy, so the mullet isn't too noticeable, but I think we're approaching first haircut time.
Her body is also getting so long!  She is an inch taller than Millie was at 18 mos old.  Interesting that she was 2 inches shorter than Millie at a year.  She's had quite the growth spurt over these past 6 months, and sadly, Millie's hand-me-downs no longer work because the season doesn't match up (and Syd is a tad fluffier).  She's wearing size 24 mos in most stuff now.  She's still amazing at taking naps (can't quite shake that morning nap yet) and going to bed at night.  She still uses a paci in her bed, but she has no problem going without it during the day.  She's officially off of bottles and onto sippy cups, and she's also fully onto regular milk-based formula now.  This means we can start slowly adding in whole milk to transition; it's such a long process.  She's had 3 more teeth come in this past couple of weeks: lower right lateral incisor and both lower first molars.  I think that's all that's come in, but getting a look at her teeth is extremely hard.  She's stronger than she looks.  We'll find out for sure at her 18 month checkup.
Pid Pid is loving Little Gym time.  The balance beams are her favorite!  Video: Syd walking the beam
She's so brave and fearless.  She watches Millie do so much and she thinks she can follow right along.  This slide at Little Giggles is so fast, but Syd loves it!  Speaking of fearless, she can go up and down our stairs without any help.  Makes me so nervous, but she doesn't want any help.  Our girl is very independent.
Mmmm, baby loves ketchup too ;) Syd loves baby dolls, and you'll find her toting one of them around all day long.  Putting them in the stroller and walking around the house or pretending to feed them or wrapping them up in blankets...babies are her favorite toy right now.
She's been talking so much lately.  She can imitate most things we ask her to say, but the big news is that she's been saying a lot of stuff on her own.  She now says Thank You in the correct context!  She is great at animal sounds, and she loves most any book that shows animals.  And the cutest thing ever is that she loves to walk around saying monkey...over and over.  Video: Syd says monkey

Other current likes:
Harassing Buddy, running laps through the house, cheesesticks, turning on CD player to listen to music, reading books, Duplo blocks & building block towers, any fruit, giving kisses (with her tongue out...ewww), puzzles, playground time, playing with Millie, hugging Millie, jumping, dancing, getting in her high chair, going to bed at night, Lambie, Glory the glowworm, chocolate covered sunflower seeds, and I think I can finally add going to school to this list.
Sunday was her half-birthday, and since it was snowy and cold all weekend, we needed a family outing.  Chuck E. Cheese made both girls happy (which is code for "a little insane"), and Chuck E. even brought over a cake for Syd's half-birthday!  She was sort of confused, but he didn't seem to scare her.
Her favorite was riding this horse
Sisters taking a drive in the school bus...beep beep
Happy half-birthday, sweet girl!  We all love you more than you'll ever know...
