Nana Visit

We had a wonderful week with Nana!

Buddy was a little tense...and I think a little sad.  Every time mom comes to visit, I'm sure he thinks she's coming back to rescue him again. ;)

Wednesday, we made a quick trip over to the aquarium to spend a few hours with Aunt Dina, Mimi, and Papa.  What a fun day!

I'm so thankful at least one of my children allows other people to hold them.  Syd went to everyone that day!

Boy howdy, do I miss my Mimi and Papa...

It was a lovely morning and the girls were actually good at lunch!  Naps in the car, then a chilly stop at the park on the way home.

Syd's first time eating ketchup!  Of course, she loved it and was scooping it up with her fingers.

Since the girls were in school, we took advantage and visited the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.  I took mom on a quick tour of the beautiful grounds before we headed indoors for a most decadent lunch and then viewed the cool new State of the Art exhibit.

Back at school to pick the girls up and Millie had rug burns all over her face.  Her teacher said they were pretending to be animals.  It looked hilarious and slightly painful.  I tried to take a pic and she gave me the Damien face.

Millie said she needed ice cream for an after school snack.  Whatever.  Nana's in town, have at it.

Friday, we took the bus to Devil's Den for our last camping trip of the year.

Millie kept having Syd touch the daddy long legs spiders.  I think we caught a glimpse of the future when Millie will be having Syd touch all sorts of scary things.

Break out the fleece-y pajamas!  Thanks, Nana, for the matching Frozen jammies.  The girls have been sleeping really well in the motorhome.  They have bunk beds and go to bed without much fuss at night.  The adults are able to have some time by the campfire with a glass of wine.  It's been really lovely.  The only drawback is that they get up sooooo early.  Syd has been up between 5-5:30am every day since the time change, and our weekend in the bus was no exception.  It's kind of cute to hear her climbing out of bed and coming in to find me, but it's impossible to be quiet and not wake up the rest of the campers.  We all crashed really early Sunday night when we got back home.

So thankful for our new bus and family time in such a beautiful place.  Really looking forward to taking it out again next Spring when it warms up again.

Monday we had to say goodbye to Nana, which is always sad.  But it really helps knowing we'll see her again soon at Christmastime!
