Beginning of May Update

Hillery had her baby!  On Millie's last day of break, we drove to Tulsa to meet sweet baby Vincent.  He's precious. <3
Millie LOVES babies!

Then we dropped by the Tulsa zoo on the way home, and met Papa there!

I volunteer for the Girls on the Run organization a few times each year.  I love this org that helps give young girls confidence and self-esteem boosts!  So naturally, I want my girls to get involved too.  On May 5th, we worked at a water station for the spring 5K.  It's so awesome to see these girls of all ages pushing themselves!  I hope my girls will participate some day!  In this house, my kids will always know that we exercise to stay healthy...not to stay skinny.
On the same day, we had two birthday parties to go to also!  Syd's friend Adalynn was up first.  I have enjoyed seeing Syd make sweet little friends this year!
Then our neighbor and friend Emilia had a cool outdoor party complete with a bounce house and piñata!
This was a lot of activity for the girls; they were (unicorn) zombies by bedtime.
Last few weeks of school for Syd!

When the weather warms up, Millie likes to hang out in her swimsuit and chase down the ice cream truck.  Who doesn't?!

Mini golf date with dad
This month we started turning the guest room into Millie's room.  She's slept in there since she had her tonsils out over a year ago, but we never turned it into her room officially.  We let her pick out a new bedspread, put up a bunch of pics of her and her friends, and changed up some decor.  Voila!  She loves it!  I didn't realize girls this age love to show their rooms off so much.  This way she'll feel like it's more "hers".

Syd doesn't love to perform for people.  Sometimes, she'll treat me to a show of her color songs, but no one else is allowed to watch.  This particular day, she gave me the purple song...while Jasper attacked her head.  Remarkable focus. ;)  Video: Syd sings purple song

Her reading has really progressed this year!
sunroof action in the mornings before school
these two love yelling to their classmates from the sunroof - it's quite comical
Millie's class had a book performance - each one had some lines to read out loud and they each played a few instruments.  Pretty cool stuff!
Last few days as a four year old.
Spring Program: they were told to wear something bright and spring-y...I think she picked the perfect dress!  This girl sang her heart out!
Afterwards, the parents came back to the classroom.  Syd delivered her mother's day gifts to me...
Surely I'm not the only mom with this favorite drink?!
...and Nana!
Hugs for daddy - I love this picture.  You can tell she was all hyped up and so proud of herself for her rockin' performance.
At the end of the year, the teachers give each child an award.  Our girl got the gentleness award!  Mrs. Hanna had such sweet things to say about Syd.  How she's such a sweet girl to her friends and such a good helper in class.  It's been such a good year for Syd.
Girl Scout friends just hanging around before our meeting at the art studio
They made some pretty awesome wind chimes and earned their outdoor art badge!
Homework before bed - daddy is listening to her read
Muffins with mom at Millie's school - Syd loves those tiny muffins!
Millie gave me this gorgeous drawing of a rose.  Well done, Mills!
huh?  Jasper has so many looks.
Dance pictures!  Girlfriend loved her rainbow sequin costume and her red lipstick!  She said she was going to wear the costume to school ;)
Caught in the act!

Mother's Day was very special this year! JKK texted my mom and grandmother to set up a lunch date!  We drove to Tulsa, picked up Mimi, and headed to lunch....then the aquarium!

Funny story:  Millie often gets on to Syd for calling me "her mom".  Millie corrects her and says "our mom, not your mom".  Recently, I overhead this conversation, once again, but this time Millie said "Syd!  She's our mom, ours...A-R-E." ;)

It was such a lovely afternoon <3
This will forever be one of my favorite pictures.  Everyone humored me and got into the spirit.  Check out Syd ;)
Papa was in a funny mood that day, really teasing the girls and chasing Syd around.  Great memories!
always puzzles
sweet cards from my girls

JKK surprised me with a fun new camera, and my first pic was with Papa <3
Motherhood is so special.  So happy I get to experience it!
